Remo Belli (1927 - 2016)
Remo Belli, founding member of the Percussive Arts Society, passes away.
Our hearts and souls weigh heavy as we learn of the passing of Remo Belli, the only remaining founder of the Percussive Arts Society. Without Remo's vision, it's very likely that PAS, as well as the entire drum & percussion industry, would not exist as we know it. I am personally thankful to have known Remo and will be forever grateful to have been honored by his presence, innovation, inspiration, and generosity. His passion for the mission of PAS was unwavering and could even be witnessed on a daily basis through his philanthropic support of the Rhythm! Discovery Center. He recently visited R!DC to share stories, sign autographs, and inspire young percussion students. You could see in his smile and actions that he couldn't have been any happier or more content in that very moment; and little did he know that day, he confirmed for me that PAS exists for all of the right reasons. So, Thank You Remo - For Everything. You will be dearly missed but, will live on for generations to come. — Jeffrey Hartsough, Executive Director
