PAS committees play an essential role in advancing percussion through the development and dissemination of the latest information, research and initiatives.

These DoP events are mini-PASICs that draw in local musicians, educators, students and enthusiasts for a day or weekend of performances, competitions, clinics and master classes. Photo: www.facebook.com The Percussive Arts Society International Convention (PASIC) in Indianapolis, IN features over 120 concerts, clinics, master classes, labs, workshops, panels and presentations given by the finest artist from all over the world. PASIC showcases all areas of percussion — drumset, marching, keyboard, symphonic, world, recreational, education, music technology, new music, and health & wellness.
Photo: www.squarespace.com PAS Student Delegates are highly motivated university or high school students seeking to become more involved in the percussion community, while gaining valuable leadership experience. Delegates are the liaisons between student percussionists and the leadership of PAS in their chapter, playing a vital role in our efforts to better serve percussion students. The delegates receive various materials from PAS to share with their peers, campuses and chapters to communicate initiatives and recruit students to join PAS.

Discovery Center and the Percussive Arts Society national headquarters is a great way to help others “find their rhythm.” Volunteers assist staff with enriching the visitor experience at the Center by providing valuable learning experiences to visitors. Musical ability or knowledge of percussion is not required to volunteer as there are many ways to make an impact. Rhythm! Discovery Center, a creative vision of the Percussive Arts Society, interprets the role of rhythm and percussion in music and culture through dynamic and engaging educational experiences. Interactive exhibits and participatory opportunities illustrate rhythm, its role in society, and its connections to daily life.

There are a lot of resources available only through a PAS membership that are guaranteed to enhance the awareness and musicianship of its members. Talk to your friends and get them involved. Maybe you work some of these events together. Or attend a Day of Percussion with your studio. The more members in PAS, the greater the reach of our network and the more you get back.
